The studio gear I use to make my videos. Cameras, lighting, teleprompter, and all the bits in between.
This one's a bit off-topic — it's not smart home related, but I get asked about my setup a lot so here it is. This is the gear I use to film and produce the channel. I started out filming on an iPhone and have gradually upgraded over time, so don't feel like you need all of this to get started.
My studio is pretty small, so I've had to be quite deliberate about what I use and how it's laid out. Everything here has earned its place.

My main camera. I started with an iPhone but from the 'What the heck is Home Assistant' video onwards, this has been the camera I use for everything. Brilliant for talking-head content.

My main lens. It was recommended to me as "the" lens for talking-head video content and honestly I can see why. It's amazing. The shallow depth of field makes everything look cinematic.

My main tripod. The quick-release system is brilliant — I've upgraded every tripod and tripod-like device in my studio to use this same system. Folds down small, extends to 71 inches.

A friction-articulating arm with a clamp. I use these for mounting all sorts of things — monitors, lights, the teleprompter. Incredibly versatile bit of kit.

Nothing fancy, but paired with my iPad Mini and Teleprompter Pro software it works exceptionally well. Keeps my scripts right in front of the lens.

My old iPad Mini got a new lease of life as my teleprompter screen. Don't really use it for much else these days, but it's perfect for this job.

My primary light. My studio is quite small so I only have room for one of these, but it's super bright and has a physical switch so I can connect it to a smart plug.

I use these to illuminate my green screen. Really good lights, though I'm considering replacing them with something I can hook up to my smart home. Might be a future video.

My first green screen. I've since switched to green screen fabric pinned to the wall as this was a touch too narrow, but it's incredibly high quality and I hope to use it again.
